Hilly Heaven of Rajastan

Hilly Heaven of RajasthanRecently, I was on tour of Ajmer and Mount Abu, two cities from only desert state Rajasthan of India. Ajmer is the city reflecting true communal harmony we Indians have since the century as this is not just land of Brahma [Hindu God] but also famous for the Dargah of the Great Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. Two prime celebrations of the city arePushkar Mela Urs of KhwajaAjmer city was built by Raja Ajay Pal Chauhan from Chouhan dynasty and went under the rules of Mughal dynasties, Scindias and British and since independence city is part of Rajasthan state. Most commonly spoken languages of the city are Hindi, Rajasthani, Urdu and Sindhi but as the city is attracting foreign tourist also hence considering population especially business class is not finding difficult to converse in English language. As I was visiting the city when there was no celebrations were on so there was considerable less number of tourists and might this help me to get more time for interacting with local citizens. The interesting thing that every one here has a story to tell about the miracles either related with Khwaja or Brahma but the unique thing is that many Muslims are blessed by Pushkar temple and many Hindus have faith with Khwaja. During my visit I also visited historic only boys’ educational institution Mayo complex and most picturesque artificial Ana Sagar Lake but left the city with the determination of visiting the city again during the next Urs of Khwaja to enjoy the rich culture and traditions of city.World famous Thar Desert is part of Rajasthan, the land which is on world tourism map is famous as the land of forts and palace of historical importance and magnificent architecture reflecting ages. Nature has blessed this barren desertscape with one of most picturesque hill station, often referred as green oasis, Mount Abu. One will have to detrain at Mount Abu Road Rail Station and travel by road for 28 km for reaching this hill station situation on southern end of Aravali range. The roads are enriched with green nature and some truly spell bounding twists and turns. Mount Abu is also known for the Dilwara Jain Tremples [open for public from12 noon to 6 in the evening] which provides opportunity for looking into glorious past of the country by their illustrative architecture. Other important tourist spots in the city are Naravi Lake, Arbuda Devi and Guru Shikhar Sunset point. Pleasure of walking here is an unmatched and beyond any comparison.
